HCC Alumni Association presents 2007 Community Citation Award

(May 21, 2007) - Cassandra P. (Moser) Weaver, HCC Class of 1992, was presented the 2007 HCC Alumni Association Community Citation Award at HCC’s recent Honors Convocation. This award confers special recognition to a 15-year graduate of HCC for volunteer service to the community.
Weaver is the director of admissions and marketing at Reeders nursing home, where she first began to volunteer at the age of 12. She also began to volunteer with the Washington County Chapter of the American Red Cross (ARC) at age 13 and continues to volunteer there today. She is currently the chairperson of volunteers, a member of their executive committee, and a member of the ARC board of directors.
“No matter where life leads me, I will always be committed to the efforts of the American Red Cross,” said Weaver. “I feel they change the lives of people not only in our community but across the United States and in all parts of the world.” Because of her continued efforts with the American Red Cross, Weaver was named “Youth Volunteer of the Year” for the State of Maryland in 1986.
Weaver is active in her church, the Maugansville Bible Brethren Church, and serves as a volunteer at Mt. Nebo Christian Preschool in Boonsboro. She is a graduate of Boonsboro High School, HCC, and Frostburg State University. She is married with one child.
