Harsh honored for service to Governor
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Thu, 06/07/2007 - 12:00am
Michael Harsh, humanities instructor at Hagerstown Community College, was recently recognized by Gov. O’Malley for his contributions as a member of O’Malley’s Transition Team for Higher Education.
The team, made up of 50 higher education leaders from throughout the state, met from December 2006 through March 2007.
“It was a very rewarding experience to be able to work with Maryland's education leaders after over 30 years in the profession,” said Harsh.
The transition team produced a document outlining higher education’s role in Gov. O’Malley’s One Maryland initiative in regard to higher education’s quality, effectiveness, access, affordability, and accountability. The document can be found at: http://www.gov.state.md.us/documents/transition/HigherEducation.pdf.
