Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Mon, 10/22/2007 - 12:00am
Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education offers a new program for those who enjoy the Maryland Symphony Orchestra concerts, entitled “Music Appreciation with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra.”
Led by MSO board member Brendan Fitzsimmons, these classes will explore the historical background of each performance in the MSO’s 2007-2008 Masterworks series. The next class will be held Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Ballroom of Duffy’s, 43 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Focus of the session will be on Handel’s “Water Music,” Prokofiev’s “Violin Concerto No. 1,” and Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 8.”
To learn more and to register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236.
