HCC hosts UMUC legal studies speaker
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Thu, 03/20/2008 - 12:00am
Hagerstown Community College is hosting a University of Maryland University College (UMUC) legal studies guest speaker on Mon., April 21, at 5 p.m., in room 120 in the Classroom Building on the campus of HCC.
UMUC faculty member Adelaide Lagnese will speak about the legal studies program at UMUC, and will discuss how current or prospective HCC students in the paralegal studies program can transfer to UMUC and complete the remaining courses necessary to obtain a bachelor’s degree. By participating in the transfer program, and obtaining an associate’s degree in paralegal studies from HCC, students can complete more than half of the necessary coursework required for their bachelor’s degree in advance to transferring to a four-year institution.
The legal studies lecture is free and is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
To R.S.V.P for this event, call Loretta Thornhill at 301-790-2800, ext. 481.
