HCC professor published in Oxford Round Table’s Forum on Public Policy

Hagerstown Community College humanities professor Askold Skalsky was recently published in the Oxford Round Table’s elite journal The Forum on Public Policy.

The Forum on Public Policy is a scholarly review journal created by the Oxford Round Table, a non-profit educational organization committed to providing an interdisciplinary forum for the discussion of important public policy issues in regards to education, government, language, law, psychology, religion, and science.

Skalsky’s paper, entitled The Death of ‘God’ and the Inherent Conflict in the Presumed ‘Self,’ was published in March in the third installment of volume 13 of the journal.

Each year, the Oxford Round Table holds its annual session at one of the colleges of the University of Oxford. This year’s theme was “Allusions to God in Literature and Poetry of Britain and America since 1750: Informing Global Religious Conflict.” Skalsky was personally invited to attend the July 2007 session in which he first read an early version of his paper.

All journal submissions must be approved by a distinguished board of editors prior to acceptance and to be published in this particular journal is considered to be quite an honor among writers and academics.

This is the first paper Skalsky has had published by The Forum on Public Policy. After publication, the journal will be sent to a host of libraries all over the world.
