Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Mon, 08/04/2008 - 12:00am
Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education, Business and Professional Development is offering a course entitled “First Line Supervision,” which is focused on providing students with the skills and techniques needed to become effective supervisors and get the most out of employees.
Offered in cooperation with the American Management Association, students will learn how to identify the roles, competencies, and qualities of effective supervisors, build personal credibility and garner commitment from others, build a positive work environment, motivate employees, and deliver positive and instructional feedback.
Taught by HCC instructor Jim Cannon, this course will meet on Thursdays, from September 18 through September 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. Cannon is a certified trainer and has taught a variety of management courses throughout the tri-state area.
For more information, contact Jim Cannon at 301-790-2800, ext. 476. To register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236.
