Four Hagerstown Community College students recently won awards during the Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologists Annual Meeting Student Essay Competition.
Essay winners included David Lufkin, 45, of Frederick, who won the first place prize for his essay entitled, “Imaging Helps Solve a Mystery;” Cindy Garner, 41, of Clear Spring, who took home the third place prize for her essay, “Osteogenesis Imperfecta (IO);” and Jamie Price, 31, of Falling Waters, W.Va., who received honorable mention for her essay entitled, “Radiography in Archaeology.”
HCC sophomore Ruth Myers, 23, of Greencastle, Pa., received the Ted Lynch Award for Outstanding HCC Radiography Program Student.
Each year, the Ted Lynch Award is given to sophomore-level students throughout the state who are chosen by their individual college radiography programs as the most outstanding student within the program.
