Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering two courses in March and April specially geared towards those with arthritis.
The first course, “PACE: People with Arthritis can Exercise,” is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the Hagerstown Seventh-Day Adventist Church, from January 13 through April 2, and again from April 7 through June 25. Developed by the Arthritis Foundation, this course is designed to help those with arthritis maintain joint flexibility, range of motion, and strength, as well as build overall stamina. Openings are still available in the January class and students are encouraged to sign up. Cost is $85.
The second course, entitled “Arthritis Aquatics,” is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., from March 9 through April 15, and again from April 27 through June 8, at the Village at Robinwood. Designed to keep flexibility and range of motion, this course will help those with arthritis maintain strength and continue to increase stamina as they exercise in warm water. No swimming ability is necessary. Cost is $85.
For more information about either of these courses, or to register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236.
