HCC announces seminars for annual Flower & Garden Show

The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association announces its seminar schedule for the HCC Alumni Association’s 15th Annual Flower & Garden Show to be held in the College’s Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center on Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, March 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Demonstrations will be held throughout both days. In addition, Saturday’s seminars are:
9:30 a.m. - “Rain Gardens,” by Annette Ipsan, extension educator, horticulture, Maryland Cooperative Extension, Washington County
10:30 a.m. - “Vegetable Gardening: In the Beginning” by Gary Fulmer, Washington County master gardener
11:30 a.m. - “Vegetable Gardening: Getting to Harvest” by Gary Fulmer
12:30 p.m. - “Growing Backyard Vineyard,” by Dick Penna, Antietam Vineyards
1:30 p.m. - “Rainwater Harvesting,” by Jennifer Willoby, Potomac River Commission
2:30 p.m. - “How to Build a Salad Box,” by Bob and Anne Courtemanche, Washington County master gardeners
3:30 p.m. - “Container Gardening,” by Gordan and Janet Bartels, Washington County master gardeners
Sunday’s seminars are:
11:30 a.m. - “Vegetable Gardening: In the Beginning,” by Don Knode, Washington County master gardener
12:30 p.m. - “Vegetable Gardening: Getting to Harvest,” by Don Knode
1:30 p.m. - “Using Alternative Products: Our Effect on the Bay” by Lynn Little, extension educator, family and consumer sciences, Maryland Cooperative Extension, Washington County
2:30 p.m. - “Hard Scraping vs. Green Scraping: Why Have We Forgotten The Green?” by Ed Rhone, Hagerstown Community College grounds manager
