Guitar Mini-Fest rocks HCC

HCC’s Center for Continuing Education will host its second annual Guitar Mini-Fest on Saturday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, in The Merle S. Elliott Continuing Education and Conference Center at HCC.
The HCC Guitar Mini-Fest will feature a host of musical workshops by several outstanding musicians including Kathrin Murray, Steve Herberman and Tobias Hurwitz. HCC instructor Candice Mowbray will host the event.
Schedule of Events:
8:30-9 a.m. – Participant Check-In
9-9:50 a.m. – Classical Workshop: Kathrin Murray leads participants through warm
exercises and basic classical/fingerstyle guitar techniques.
10-10:50 a.m. – Rock Workshop: Tobias Hurwitz teaches advanced rock guitar skills including picking techniques, sweep picking, and much more.
11-11:50 a.m. – Jazz Workshop: Steve Herberman discusses basic improvisation skills associated with jazz and blues performance.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own guitars, pencils, and folding music stands. Availability is limited to 40 participants only. Cost is $50. For more information,or to register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236.
