HCC grad receives $15,000 scholarship

(July 13, 2009) - Hagerstown Community College (HCC) graduate Holly Bonenberger was awarded a $15,000 Community College Merit Scholarship on July 8, 2009, from University of Maryland University College (UMUC). Bonenberger, who recently earned her associate of science degree in administration of justice at HCC, will pursue a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at UMUC starting in the fall. The scholarship will cover tuition and fees for two years.

She was selected by committee to receive the scholarship, based on merit, need and a compelling essay. Bonenberger currently serves as an administrative assistant at the Maryland Correctional Training Center in Hagerstown, Maryland, moving toward her goal of pursuing a career in parole and probation.
