Truck driving management course offered

(September 10, 2009) - Hagerstown Community College is offering a course in Commercial Vehicle Transportation (CVT) management this fall.
     
Taught by HCC instructor Mike Stevenson, a transportation manager at DOT Foods, Inc., “Fundamentals of Commercial Vehicle Transportation” will provide students with an overview of the structure and importance of the commercial transportation industry in the business world. Course topics include regulations, economics, warehousing, distribution, and system operations. This course is web-based and students must have Internet access in order to complete class assignments and projects and to participate in online class discussions.
     
HCC’s Commercial Vehicle Transportation (CVT) or Truck Driving Program first began in 1995 and since that time, the program has graduated more than 1,100 students. Graduates go on to work in the truck driving and distribution industry as drivers, distribution managers, freight supervisors, and more.
