HCC offers tax preparation courses this fall

Hagerstown Community College’s Center for Continuing Education is offering two new tax preparation courses geared towards getting students ready to work for the 2010 tax season.

The first course, “Basic Income Tax Professional Training,” is offered on Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Oct. 3. Students will learn important tax preparation skills under the supervision of a tax preparation company. Cost is $379.

The second course, “Intermediate Tax Preparer Training,” is offered on Saturdays, form 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Nov. 14. Cost is $179. Students must enroll in “Basic Income Tax Professional Training,” prior to enrolling in this class. Students taking both courses will be prepared to work in the upcoming 2010 tax season.
