(January 20, 2009) - Hagerstown Community College’s Pharmacy Technician Program was recently approved by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy.
According to Elaine Ashby, associate professor, biology/chemistry, board approval recognizes that HCC meets the standards set forth by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy to train technicians to become board-registered.
“This eases the road for our students to become board-certified technicians as well as find employment in Maryland,” says Ashby. “Graduates who earn their certificate can pursue employment as pharmacy technicians.”
HCC’s Pharmacy Technician Program began in fall of 2008. The 26-credit certificate program prepares students to work in retail and institutional pharmacies. For more information about the program, contact Elaine Ashby at email@example.com.
