HCC and Mount St. Mary’s sign articulation agreement
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Mon, 02/22/2010 - 12:56pm
Officials at Hagerstown Community College and Mount St. Mary’s University recently signed an articulation agreement for students studying business administration. The agreement is designed to create a smoother transition for students who wish to start at HCC and transfer their academic credits to Mount St. Mary’s University to complete a bachelor’s degree in business.
“We’re pleased to be able to partner with Mount St. Mary’s University to offer our business students an enhanced opportunity to continue their studies,” said Guy Altieri, HCC president.
This agreement extends access to higher education opportunities through the accelerated course concept designed for adults and responds to the needs of Washington County. This agreement will provide upper-division work leading to a bachelor’s degree in business from Mount St. Mary’s University’s School of Business.
“This agreement is good for Hagerstown Community College and Mount St. Mary’s University because it’s good for the adult learners in Washington County. The path to a bachelor’s degree just became clearer, and the goal of an undergraduate degree for busy adults is now in sight,” says the director of the Mount’s Frederick Center, Joseph Lebherz. “The Center looks forward to welcoming new students from HCC, and to ultimately sending them forth armed with new and consequential knowledge.”
