(May 19, 2010) - Hagerstown Community College held its 63rd annual commencement on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. in the Athletic, Recreation, and Community Center. HCC President Dr. Guy Altieri and members of the board of trustees presented 473 degrees and certificates before a crowd of more than 2,000.
Dr. Donna Rudy, HCC dean of student affairs, reports that 346 students received associate degrees in the transfer curricula, designed for students planning to continue their education at a four-year institution. The top choices of colleges for HCC graduates in the transfer program are Shepherd University, Frostburg State University, Shippensburg University, and Towson University.
Nursing was the most popular curricula for the two-year, career-oriented students with 65 graduates. In the transfer program, business administration and general studies were the largest concentrations.
Awards for academic achievement were presented at the Honors Convocation, held on May 13.
