HCC offers course on Shakespeare for middleschoolers

Hagerstown Community College’s Continuing Education and Community Services Division is offering a “Discovering Shakespeare” course as part of its annual College for Kids summer enrichment program.

The course is intended for middle school students entering grades six through eight and will focus on the work of one of the English language’s most influential authors. Students will learn basic stage directions to use in Shakespearian plays and will also learn to perform mock Shakespearian stage combat. “Discovering Shakespeare” will be held from daily during the week of July 6 through 9, from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Cost is $115. Participants are encouraged to register early as class size is limited.
