Summer Concert Series continues on June 23

The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Wed., June 23, at 6 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.

The U.S. Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic originally formed in Aug. 1942 in Rapid City, S.D.  The band consists of several ensembles including a concert band, a ceremonial band, the “High Altitude” Popular Music Ensemble, “The Guardsmen” Big Band Jazz Ensemble, brass and woodwind quintets, a jazz/popular combo, and the “German Band.”  The band performs throughout the eastern United States and around the globe to enhance airman morale, as well as increase public awareness and understanding of the armed forces.

This concert is free and open to the public. This year’s Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series is sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Joint Veterans Council, and Amvets Department Service Foundation, Inc.
