(June 16, 2010) - HCC held its first Nursing Simulation Conference on June 8 and 9, 2010. The conference was funded by the NSP II Phase 4 Grant, which was awarded to HCC in 2010. Grant funds will help build a statewide collaborative nursing simulation users group. This users group will be developing and implementing a system of high quality simulation training opportunities to support community college nursing program faculties across the state.
A special message from Deb McClain, Nursing Grant Director at Hagerstown Community College:
Congratulations to the following nursing students who did a stellar job at the Nursing Simulation Conference last week! They took the lead role under the spotlight to help educate nursing faculty, respiratory faculty, Directors of Nursing and Nursing Division Chairs from Maryland Community Colleges and Universities - and they were AWESOME!!! The compliments are still pouring in for Caitlin Ott, Autumn Brown, Rebeccal Lloyd, Paula Krumpe and Maria Vargas!
I also want to congratulate our recent nursing grads who also participated in a video taped demonstration that aired at the Nursing Simulation Conference last week: Brandon Purdy, Kelly Cline, Janelle Rodriguez, Jessica Henderson and Clyde Constant. Your simulation demo set the bar for two days of dynamic learning for our nursing educators and leaders. Thank you for your quick response and willingness to take on this task. All of you have gotten rave reviews!
