(July 22, 2010) - Hagerstown Community College recently announced the graduation of its first group of students in the dental assisting program. Graduates were honored at a special ceremony on June 30, 2010.
Following remarks from Theresa Marks, HCC instructor for dental assisting/hygiene, attendees heard from Angela Stoops, director, health sciences; Judith Oleks, vice president of academic affairs; Donna Rudy, dean of students; and keynote speaker Robert Steiner, DDS, an adjunct faculty member for the dental assisting program.
Graduates included Brandi Bridgett and Dana Mills, both of Boonsboro; Bethany Coyle, of Cascade; Kimberly Kesner, of Greencastle, Pa.; Allison Donovan, Destiny Grimm, and Amanda Willow, all of Hagerstown; Christine Elliott, of Maugansville; Courtney Sanders, of Mercersburg, Pa.; Rachel Dawson, of Smithsburg; and Dana Temple, of Waynesboro, Pa.
Special awards were presented to Dana Temple, the student with the highest GPA in the program, as well as Allison Donovan and Christine Elliott, the two students who
missed the least number of classes during the rigorous nine-month program.
