Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Wed, 08/11/2010 - 2:55pm
The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Tues., Aug. 24, at 6 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
The U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors first formed in 1969. A 19-member ensemble, the Jazz Ambassadors travel throughout the United States and abroad performing a variety of big band music including swing, bebop, contemporary jazz, Latin, standards, popular music, Dixieland tunes, and patriotic favorites. The band is known for its talented soloists and often arranges custom compositions to highlight its broad, musical range.
This concert is free and open to the public. The Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series is sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Joint Veterans Council, and Amvets Department Service Foundation, Inc.
