Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Fri, 03/25/2011 - 8:48am
This spring, Hagerstown Community College’s Continuing Education and Community Services Division is offering a brand new online photography course for aspiring photographers.
“Creative Photography” will be offered twice during the spring semester. The first session will begin April 9 and end June 6 and the second session will begin June 18 and end August 8. Discussion topics will include composition, photography basics, postproduction methods, and lighting, as well as the role social media plays in promoting photographic artwork. Students will have one face-to-face orientation at the beginning of each session but the majority of classes will be held online. Students are asked to use a digital single lens reflex camera (SLR) but any digital camera is permitted. Students are required to have access to Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 or Adobe Creative Suite (CS5) on their home computers. Cost is $115. Senior adults are eligible for a discount.
Courses will be taught by HCC instructor Jon Heller. For more information or to register, call 301-790-2800, ext. 236, or go to www.hagerstowncc.edu/coned/areas/lifelong.
