Five HCC students awarded UMUC scholarship

 

(Release: June 6, 2011) - Five students from Hagerstown Community College were recently awarded the Maryland Community College Transfer Scholarship from University of Maryland University College (UMUC).

HCC graduates receiving this award include Lindsay Febres, of Hagerstown, who graduated with A.A. in general studies; Sonja Hoover, of Hagerstown, who graduated with an A.S. in business; Jaclyne Kartley, of Hagerstown; who graduated with an A.A. in psychology; Dennis Reed, of Hagerstown, who graduated with an A.A. in data processing; and Kaitlyn Ridenour, of Hagerstown; who graduated with A.A. in general studies.

To receive this award, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above from one of the 16 community colleges in Maryland, must be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree, and must have earned an associate’s degree prior to attending UMUC.
