James River Ramblers to perform Aug. 31
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Thu, 08/18/2011 - 8:42am
The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the James River Ramblers, one of the U.S. Army TRADOC Band ensembles, as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Concert Series, on Wed., Aug. 31, at 6:30 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band (TRADOC) performs a wide variety of musical styles and encompasses more than nine ensembles, including a concert band, a marching band, a woodwind quartet, a Dixieland band, a rock band, and a jazz band. This year’s performance at HCC will feature the “James River Ramblers,” a seven-piece ensemble that performs jazz music in the New Orleans style tradition.
Co-sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, this concert is free and is open to the public. For more information, call 301-790-2800, ext. 262, or email lmauk@hagerstowncc.edu. To learn more about the TRADOC Band, go to www.tradoc.army.mil/band.
