Citi grant helps HCC’s Job Training Student Resources program

(Release: September 6, 2011) - Hagerstown Community College recently received a charitable donation of $10,000 from Citicorp Credit Services, Inc., to benefit students in HCC’s Job Training Student Resources (JTSR) program.

Debra Gorbsky, customer service group manager and Hagerstown site president for Citi, said, “Citi is pleased to provide funding which will allow 30 more students to receive assistance in the Job Training Student Resources program at HCC.  Our goal is to connect these students to appropriate services, which will allow them to stay in college, have a successful experience, and complete their programming.”

“We thank Citi for their support of the Job Training Student Resources Program.  Their generosity will help us provide additional assistance for low-to-moderate income individuals who are working to achieve training and career goals,” said Guy Altieri, HCC president. “We believe HCC’s JTSR program will be an excellent venue through which Citi can further achieve its goals to “give back” to the communities in which it provides services.”

The JTSR program at HCC is dedicated to serving the needs of low-income students who are in career programs and are 24 years of age and older. For more information, visit
