(Release: September 9, 2011) - Hagerstown Community College student Kenneth Frederickson, of Hagerstown, recently won the Helen and Gene Kline Scholarship for the fall 2011 semester.
Frederickson, 19, has a 3.74 GPA and is double-majoring in mathematics and engineering. He started at HCC as a mathematics major before discovering an interest in engineering during his freshman year. Frederickson will complete his mathematics degree in spring 2012 and his engineering degree the following fall. After graduation, Frederickson plans to transfer to a four-year school to complete his bachelor’s degree, with the hopes of one day working in the engineering field.
The Helen and Gene Kline Scholarship is an endowed scholarship awarded annually through the Community Foundation of Washington County. Recipients must be a current HCC student majoring in either education or engineering, have a GPA of 2.0 or higher, and demonstrate a proven commitment to higher education.
