HCC to offer meditation course
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Tue, 12/13/2011 - 4:32pm
The Continuing Education and Community Services Division of Hagerstown Community College will offer a course entitled, “Principles of Meditation – A Joyous, Peaceful Way of Life,” for two sessions, beginning in January.
The first session runs on Tuesdays, Jan. 17 through Feb. 21, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. The second session runs on Thursdays, Feb. 23 through March 29, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Both sessions will be held at the HCC Valley Mall Center.
This course is designed for those who are new to the meditation experience or for those who wish to renew their meditation practice. Meditation is said to be an excellent support to prevent, slow, or control cardiovascular disease, improve the ability to sustain concentration, restore balance for depression, develop constructive use of thought patterns, and ease pain associated with chronic diseases. The course fee is $71.
