HCC offers three new management courses

The Continuing Education and Community Services Division at Hagerstown Community College is currently offering three brand new management courses.    

The first course, “Understanding Your Financial Statements: Finance for the Non-Financial Manager,” will be offered on Tuesdays, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning Feb. 7 and ending Feb. 21. Course topics include key finance terms and basis accounting concepts, as well as how to manage assets, liabilities, and equity and how to improve profitability through budgeting. All classes will be held in the Technical Innovation Center on HCC’s main campus. Cost is $45.

The second course, “Managing Generational Differences,” will be offered on Thurs., March 22, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. This one-day workshop will teach participants how to effectively communicate with the many generations present in today’s workplace. Key topics include increasing workplace effectiveness, team performance, customer relations, and operational performance. Cost is $115.

The third course, “A Manager’s Guide to Performance Management and Corrective Action,” will be offered on Thurs., March 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. Discussion topics include using performance evaluations to increase employee motivation, learning how to properly manage employees, and taking corrective action. Cost is $125.
