HCC to offer course on Norse and Icelandic literature

Hagerstown Community College’s Continuing Education and Community Services Division will offer a new course, “The Magnificent Medieval Norse: Icelandic Saga Literature,” on Wednesdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon, beginning Feb. 29 and ending April 25.
Taught by HCC instructor Karen Gray, Ph.D., this course will explore the Icelandic sagas created between the 10th and 14th centuries. Discussion topics will include an overview of the literature’s origins and its content, as well as its cultural significance to the Norse and Celtic peoples.
