HCC announces seminars for annual Flower & Garden Show

The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association recently announced its seminar schedule for the 18th Annual Flower & Garden Show, which will be held on Sat., March 17, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sun., March 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the ARCC.
Demonstrations will be held both days. Saturday seminars include:
- 10 a.m. – “Design with Ornamental Grasses” with Christine Abelow
- 11 a.m. – “Designing Your Landscape Gardens” with Laurie Waltz, landscape designer, Ott’s Horticulture
- 12 noon – “The Basics of Roses” with Sandy Scott, horticulture educator
- 1 p.m. – “Preserving the Gifts of Your Garden” with Lynn Little, Family and Consumer Sciences, University of Maryland extension
- 2 p.m. – “Creating a Meditation Garden” with Greg Ott, Ott’s Horticulture
- 3 p.m. – “The Promise of Your Spring Wedding” with Troy Gifft, T.G. Design
Sunday seminars include:
- 11 a.m. – “Photography in the Garden” with Craig Camp, Washington County master gardener
- 12 noon – “The Gardens of Europe” with Annette Ipsan, horticulture educator
- 1 p.m. – “Composting for Soil Amendment” with Karen Greeley, Washington County master gardener
- 2 p.m. – “Discover How Solar Energy Works for the Garden” with Michelle Liefke, Mountain View Solar
- 3 p.m. – “Antique Rose: Herb of the Year” with Madeline Wadja, of Willow Pond Farm
