Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Wed, 05/09/2012 - 9:37am
Hagerstown Community College will hold its 3rd Annual Quest for Excellence Nursing Simulation Conference on Tues., June 5 and Wed., June 6, in the Elliott Center on HCC’s main campus.
This year’s conference will focus on the simulation needs of community colleges and new advancements in the nursing simulation field. Sessions will be geared towards both novices and advanced simulation users, and live pediatric and psychiatric scenarios will be demonstrated.
Cost is $300. The first 110 Maryland community college faculty/staff attendees to register will receive a $200 registration scholarship supported by the Nurse Support Program II Grant Program under the auspices of the Health Services Cost Review Commission. Professional continuing education credits (CEUs) are available to Maryland nurses and nurse practitioners through the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). Attendees will receive 11 contact hours if they attend 100 percent of the conference sessions and complete a course evaluation upon program completion.
Sponsored by the Maryland Community Colleges Simulation Users Network (MCCSUN), the Quest for Excellence conference is intended for community college faculty, lab coordinators, lab technicians, and other staff working in nursing and allied health programs who are interested in incorporating simulation into their course curricula. For more information, or to register, go to www.mccsun.org.
