HCC Alumni Association presents 2012 Community Citation Award
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Wed, 05/16/2012 - 9:12am
Jaime Lynn Mason, of Hagerstown, was presented the 2012 Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association Community Citation Award at HCC’s recent Honors Convocation. This award confers special recognition to a 15-year graduate of HCC for volunteer service to the community.
Mason graduated from HCC in 1997 with an associate’s degree. She then earned a bachelor’s degree from Midway College and a master’s degree from McDaniel College. She is employed by Washington County Public Schools as a teacher and a coach.
Mason was selected for the award because of the fact that she is an active volunteer in her community and her church. At Rehoboth United Methodist Church, she has been a Sunday school teacher for seven years, chairperson of the Staff Parish Relations Committee, and coordinator of Visual Projection Ministries. Mason is a track coach at summer camp with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has been actively involved with planning for the Nick Adenhart 5K Walk and Run, as well as other 5Ks in Washington County. She is also volunteer leader with Your Life, where she shares her passion for helping young people develop and flourish.
