HCC to offer bartending course

Hagerstown Community College’s Continuing Education and Community Services Division will offer “Introduction to Bartending” on Wednesdays, from 6 to 9 p.m., beginning June 6 and ending Aug. 1.
Course topics include bar setup, glassware, measuring methods, tools, identification of liquors, beers, and wines, and recipes and mixing techniques. The Maryland State Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) certification test will be given on the final night of class. Students must be at least 18 to enroll and 21 to participate in class tasting activities.
All classes will be held at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. Cost is $399. Fee includes bartending kit, textbooks, and field trip. For more information, contact Deborah Gilliss at 240-500-2520, or email dlgilliss@hagerstowncc.edu.
