Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Mon, 06/18/2012 - 10:20am
The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Army Field Band’s Concert Band and Soldiers’ Chorus as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Sun., July 1, at 4:30 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.
The U.S. Army Field Band consists of four ensembles including its 65-member Concert Band and its 29-member Soldiers’ Chorus. Founded in 1946, the Concert Band is the oldest and largest of the U.S. Army Field Band’s ensembles. The band frequently travels with the Soldiers’ Chorus and performs a wide variety of patriotic selections, popular music, and marches, as well as instrumental and vocal solos.
Co-sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, this concert is free and is open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds.
