HCC to offer free lecture series on Lincoln

Hagerstown Community College will offer a free Saturday lecture series on Abraham Lincoln on Aug. 25, Sept. 8 and 22, from 10 a.m. to noon, in HCC’s Kepler Theater.
On Aug. 25, Thomas Clemens, historian and author, will discuss “Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War, Secession and Civil Liberties.” Roger Schwartz, historian and author, will review “Lincoln, the Founding Fathers and the Issue of Slavery” on Sept. 8. “There is No Fail Here – Lincoln and the Gettysburg Address” will be discussed by attorney and Gettysburg National Park guide John Fitzgerald on Sept. 22.
“Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War,” a traveling exhibition to American libraries, will open at Hagerstown Community College on Sat., Aug. 25, at 9 a.m. in the Kepler Center lobby, and run through Sept. 27. Admission is free.
