R. Benjamin Jones Art Show held Nov. 16-17

Phlox and Butterflies by R. Benjamin Jones

The HCC Foundation will host a reception, show, and sale of paintings by R. Benjamin Jones on Fri., Nov. 16 and Sat., Nov. 17, in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus.

This year’s show will feature Jones’ renowned portraits, landscapes, still-lifes, and animal paintings. A portion of the proceeds will benefit HCC and its students.

“We’ve always enjoyed these shows,” said artist R. Benjamin Jones, referring to him and his wife, Rebecca. “This is the twelfth year we’ve had the show at the college, and what makes this year so special is the new and wonderful improvements that have been made to the Kepler Center. We are pleased to be able to have our paintings hung in this extraordinary setting, and we hope that the sales from this show will continue to contribute to the school’s scholarship program.”

This event is free and open to the public. Event times are 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Attendees may purchase raffle tickets to win an original R. Benjamin Jones painting. The winner, whose name will be drawn at the Saturday show, does not need to be present to win. A variety of note cards featuring paintings by the artist will also be sold.
