HCC to offer social media seminar to Waynesboro businesses

In partnership with Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc.’s Economic Development Committee, the Continuing Education and Business Services Division at Hagerstown Community College will offer a social media seminar for Waynesboro-area businesses.

“Promote Your Business with Social Media,” will be held on Tues., Nov. 13, from 7:30 to 10 a.m., at the Mountain Gate Family Restaurant on 10530 Buchanan Trail East in Waynesboro, Pa. Cost is $25 per person and includes a breakfast buffet.

“This seminar is packed with tips and tricks businesses can start using immediately to increase sales by marketing through social media channels,” said Stephanie Powers, business and recruitment specialist and program manager at HCC, who will be leading the seminar. Powers previously worked for the Main Street program in York, Pa., where she managed the downtown district’s email and social media campaigns and worked with downtown businesses to improve their social media strategies.

“Participants will learn how to determine which social media platforms are right for their businesses, how to engage their customers, and most importantly, what not to do,” Powers said.
