Graphic Design Contest now through March 2
Submitted by Leigh-Anne Mauk on Thu, 02/14/2013 - 10:05am
Hagerstown Community College is partnering with AIGA (American Institute of Graphics Artists) Blue Ridge to hold a graphic design contest called “stylUS.”
Sponsored by students in HCC’s AIGA Design Club, “stylUS” is a poster contest where participants design an original piece of artwork based on a specific theme. This year’s theme is “poetic pixels.”
“StylUS is a themed poster contest similar to AIGA’s Poster Clash competition,” said Sarah Anne Cimaglio, of Williamsport, who is student president of HCC’s AIGA Club. “Designers choose lines from a song or poem of their choice and create a design based off that. The goal is to show the delicate balance between music or poetry and the visual arts in a beautiful and creative way.”
This contest is open to any designer in the tri-state area including HCC students, staff, and faculty. Entries can be submitted online from now through March 2. Submission is $5 per entry. Winners will be announced at a special reception on March 9. For more information, or to submit an entry, go to www.aigablueridge.org/stylus.
