Mar 18 2013 (All day) - Apr 4 2013 (All day)
A new exhibit featuring the work of artists Kate Keely and Jennifer Hand will be on display from March 18 through April 4 in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus.
The exhibit, “Still in Motion,” will feature paintings, drawings, and mixed media pieces that explore themes such as life, strength, transition, and renewal. Keely, of Frostburg, Md., is an adjunct instructor at HCC and Frostburg State University. Keely has a master of fine arts in mixed media from Radford University, two bachelor’s degrees from Mary Baldwin College, and is currently a doctoral student in community college administration at Morgan State University. She has been actively exhibiting her artwork since 1989.
Hand, of Dublin, Va., is an instructor of studio art at the Virginia Tech School of Visual Arts. Hand has a master of fine arts from Radford University and a bachelor of fine arts from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich. Like Keely, Hand has been actively exhibiting her work for a number of years and has participated in more than 70 exhibitions since 1991.
An opening reception will be held on Thurs., March 28, beginning at 6 p.m., in the Kepler Center. The reception will coincide with HCC’s annual Kreykenbohm Lecture, which will be held at 7 p.m. in the Kepler Theater.
This event is free and is open to the public. For more information, contact Joan Bontempo at 240-500-2221 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
