Air National Guard Band performs July 1

Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic

The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the Air National Guard Band of the Mid-Atlantic as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Mon., July 1, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.

The Air National Guard Band was originally formed in 1942 as the 53rd Army Air Forces Band and underwent a series a name changes before it was given its current name in 2000. A traditional Air National Guard squadron, the band consists of 36 National Guard members with civilian careers who meet one weekend a month to rehearse and perform. The HCC performance will feature a blend of patriotic and classical music, as well as swing favorites and show tunes.

Co-sponsored by the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, this concert is free and is open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase. Please note that no outside food is permitted on the amphitheater grounds.
