Community Book Drive now through Sept. 30

To celebrate Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, the HCC Adult Education Program is joining with the Washington County United Way, the Hagerstown Rotary Club, and the Hagerstown Area Religious Council for the Second Annual Community Book Collection. 

The book drive is collecting new and gently used books for children age 11 and younger. Books collected with be distributed to programs that address literacy for at-risk children in the community. This year's goal is to raise 10,000 books.

Book collection boxes are placed in the lobbies of several buildings on campus. Locations include:

  • The Adult Education Office (third floor, Learning Resource Center (LRC), room 348
  • The Learning Support Center (LSC)
  • The Student Center (STC)
  • The Administration & Student Affairs (ASA) Building
