HCC offers certification for food managers

Hagerstown Community College’s Continuing Education and Business Services Division is offering a course on food safety certification for food service facility owners, managers, and food handlers.

“Food Safety Managers Certification” will be offered on Oct. 22 and 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. Course topics will include proper methods of food handling and preparation, the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) concept of food safety, proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities, guidelines for working with regulatory agencies, and personal hygiene. Upon course completion, participants are awarded a nationally valid certificate as a certified professional food manager from the National Environmental Health Association.
