(Release: October 24, 2013) - The Hagerstown Community College Foundation, Inc., will host a reception, show, and sale of paintings by R. Benjamin Jones on Fri., Nov. 15 and Sat., Nov. 16, 2013, in the HCC Kepler Center. Event times are 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
This year’s show will feature locally inspired artwork and scenes from Jones’ recent travels to France, New England, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. A portion of the proceeds will benefit HCC and its students.
This event is free and open to the public. Raffle tickets, $20 each, are available for a chance to win an original R. Benjamin Jones piece of work. This year a $20 ticket will provide four chances to win one of the following: an original painting, “Pink Hydrangeas,” valued at $2,900; a pencil drawing; a glicée on canvas; or a print under glass.
The winner, whose name will be drawn at the Saturday show, does not need to be present to win. A variety of note cards, postcards, and gift enclosures featuring paintings by Jones will also be sold.
