(Release: February 4, 2014 ) - AMT is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), a recognition only given to organizations meeting rigorous NCCA Standards.
Students who complete the HCC Medical Assistant Program can sit for the AMT exam and become a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). The RMA exam is administered through Person VUE and is offered through HCC’s testing center.
Completing this exam allows these credentialed students to successfully meet the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Stage 2 rule allowing “credentialed medical assistants” to enter orders into the Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) system for medication and for laboratory and radiology services.
“Students who complete our Medical Assistant Program and the RMA exam are fully compliant, meeting medical office and health system employer needs,” said Angela Stoops, director, HCC Health Sciences Division.
