(March 6, 2018)— As part of Hagerstown Community College’s 24th Annual Flower & Garden Show, author and master gardener Marianne Willburn will share tips and real-life gardens from her new book, “Big Dreams, Small Garden: A Guide to Creating Something Extraordinary in Your Ordinary Space.” Her seminar is scheduled for Saturday, March 17, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the ARCC, with a book selling and signing to follow.
Willburn’s new book, “Big Dreams, Small Garden,” addresses the difficulties of outdoor spaces, including tiny balconies, lack of privacy, HOA restrictions, neighborhood, etc. She breaks down the process into manageable sections, shifting the perspective and cultivating a sense of contentment and peace in the process.
With more than 20 years of experience gardening around the world, Willburn currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children, where she gardens on ten acres and shares her expertise each week with readers online and in print. She has won several national awards for her popular column and blog, “The Small Town Gardener.”
HCC’s annual Flower & Garden Show features more than 150 vendors and experts in nurseries, lawn and garden equipment, pottery and statuary, landscaping, tree services, stone products, pools, spas, outdoor furniture, flowers, wild bird products, and natural gourmet gifts from the garden. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children under 12. Proceeds benefit the HCC Alumni Association.
