(June 15, 2017)— The English and Humanities Division at Hagerstown Community College recently announced that dancer Gabriella Di Giuseppe has joined HCC’s dance department as an adjunct faculty member.
At HCC, Giuseppe will be teaching hip-hop dance courses in which students will further develop their own hip-hop style and voice in choreography, strengthen their hip-hop dance technique, and further their knowledge of hip-hop dance history.
Giuseppe is a professional dancer and choreographer with a bachelor of fine arts in dance education and performance from the University of Maryland, College Park. She started dancing at age 10 and has trained throughout Maryland at the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts, 24/7 Dance Studio, B. Funk Dance Company, Project C. Studios, and Dancin’ Times Studio. She has since performed with Culture Shock DC, American Dance Festival, and Bates Dance Festival Winter Intensive in NYC.
“We are thrilled to have Gabriella on staff,” said Alyssa Little, assistant professor of dance at HCC. “Our students have an excellent opportunity to train with the very best in the area, as Gabriella is an incredibly sought after hip-hop instructor. We also haven’t offered a hip-hop class in several years and our current students are really excited about it.”
This summer, Giuseppe will be training at the Dance Educators Laboratory in Manhattan, New York, and the Gaga NYC Summer Intensive. To learn more about HCC’s arts and humanities programs, visit www.hagerstowncc.edu/humanities.
