(February 9, 2017) – The Children’s Learning Center at Hagerstown Community College held its first “Hearts on Parade,” a special event to raise funds for activities for the children, including field trips, family picnics, a magic show, and the annual petting zoo.
During the event, children in each of the different aged classes had the opportunity to participate in a fun run or walk around the track in HCC’s ARCC, with special activity stations located along the way. Approximately 50 children participated, raising more than $1500 through individual sponsorships.
The Children’s Learning Center provides preschool classes and child care to HCC students and is open to the community. Because parents pay “below market” fees for the program, funds raised through this and other events help to pay for special activities and classroom equipment.
