(May 9, 2005) - The radiography program at Hagerstown Community College recently received an award from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) as the Outstanding Postsecondary Career Technology Education Program.
“We are honored to receive this award, especially given the quality and number of outstanding postsecondary career and technical programs within the state. A wonderful team effort, by the college, its radiography students and faculty, and twelve health care organizations within the tri-state region, made it possible,” said Brenda Hassinger, program coordinator for the radiography program.
The award was presented at MSDE’s 2005 Awards of Excellence ceremony which was held at the Wyndham Hotel in Baltimore. This annual event recognizes outstanding career and technical programs, student organizations, change agents, business partnerships, and distinguished service awards.
The career and technical programs are judged on employment of graduates, performance of graduates on the national certification examination, learner outcomes, program outcomes and integration with systemic reform through career connections and the community.
