(February 19, 2019) – The Registered Nursing Program at Hagerstown Community College has been ranked number two in the state of Maryland, by RegisteredNursing.org. This ranking included both university and community college nursing programs.
“I am extremely proud of our nursing program,” said Karen Hammond, director of the nursing division. “The program has been very successful as shown by consistently high pass rates on the NCLEX-RN exam and the success of our graduates as they enter the work force. This award validates the excellent nursing program that we offer here at HCC.”
Of the 24 state-approved nursing programs in Maryland, RegisteredNursing.org ranked the top 10, based on state test results and the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) pass rates. The NCLEX-RN exam is used by state boards of nursing to test proficiency and grant licensure for each Registered Nurse (RN).
