(Hagerstown, Md.)— The Robinwood Players Theater Club at Hagerstown Community College hosted a day of theater on Saturday, May 5, in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus.
The day of theater included workshops and presentations open to HCC students and local high school juniors and seniors. Topics covered included stage combat, directing, the audition process, costumes, stage movement, improvisation, viewpoints, theater games, and ice breakers.
Leading the workshops were Sam Little, professional actor and artistic director at the Maryland Entertainment Group; Ben Buhrman, technical director at Mount St. Mary’s University; Anna Kurtz, professional actor; Taylor Payne, graduate assistant for marketing and communication at Towson University; and Robin Shaner from HCC’s performing arts program.
The Robinwood Players Theater Club is open to HCC students interested in the performing arts. The club’s goals are to promote a better understanding of all aspects of the performing arts genre and to foster the performing arts at HCC by providing opportunities to explore, develop, create, share, and support dance, dramatic, and musical productions.
